Exabytes Becomes a Channel Partner of Alibaba.com

PENANG, April 25 – Alibaba.com is partnering Exabytes as the new official channel partner in the northern region of Malaysia.

The Launch Ceremony held at The Light Hotel, Seberang Jaya, Penang was attended by over 200 guests who witnessed the collaboration of Alibaba.com and Exabytes to boost exports by Malaysian SMEs.

As part of the new partnership, Alibaba.com appointed Exabytes as an authorised Global Gold Supplier (GGS) membership Channel partner. This service would enable businesses like SMEs to tap into millions of buyers worldwide by listing their business on Alibaba.com platform.

“Our mission is simple, we want to make it easy for everyone to run and grow their business, anywhere.” Exabytes founder and CEO, Mr. Chan Kee Siak was quoted as saying.

The partnership represents Alibaba’s latest initiative under the Electronic World Trade Platform to help Malaysians SMEs seize global cross-border trade opportunities by taking advantage of the Alibaba ecosystem.

According to the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Chow Kon Yeow, “SMEs contributed 37% of Malaysia’s gross domestic product in 2017 and employed two-thirds of the country’s workforce. It needs to keep up with the latest technological developments to stay competitive.”

At the event, Steven Zheng, the Certified Lecturer from Alibaba Business School and a successful supplier from Alibaba.com shared his wonderful insights on eCommerce, including the real-life success story from Alibaba.com, which were highly inspiring and motivating.

Other successful individuals who shared their insights regarding the potential of eCommerce Trade include Adrian Yong (Sales Director, TRL Southeast Asia), Mohd Nordin (Chairman of Koperasi Usahawan Groom Big Perlis), Chan Kee Siak (Exabytes founder and CEO) among others.
